Administrator
Amber brings a legacy of leadership and innovation to her role as Administrator at Rehabilitation Centers of Independence. A third-generation administrator in her family, Amber has proudly carried the torch since 2010, dedicating over 14 years to advancing long-term care in her community.
Her career is marked by results-driven leadership and a passion for mentoring the next generation. Amber has successfully overseen more than 30 annual health surveys from both state and federal agencies, consistently maintaining high standards of quality care. She has also served as a mentor to multiple Administrator-in-Training candidates, many of whom have gone on to become licensed administrators themselves.
Amber earned her Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology from the University of Northern Iowa and has continually built on that foundation through hands-on leadership, resilience, and a commitment to person-directed care. Her strategic focus on team development and quality improvement has made a lasting impact on the facility and the people it serves.
Director of Nursing
With a career that spans critical care transport, education, hospice, and skilled nursing leadership, Roberta brings versatility to her role as Director of Nursing (DON). A graduate of Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Roberta’s journey began in high-stakes environments—as a helicopter transport nurse and later as an instructor at the Barnes School of Nursing in St. Louis.
Since relocating to Iowa, Roberta has continued to diversify her expertise, teaching CNA courses, managing hospice care, providing skilled nursing services, and guiding clinical teams across various care settings. What ties all of these roles together is her unwavering philosophy: to deliver holistic care with purpose, compassion, and integrity.
Whether advocating for patients, families, or staff, Roberta approaches every challenge with empathy and a commitment to continuous learning. Her experience spans the full spectrum of life—from NICU newborns to centenarian residents—giving her a profound appreciation for the individuality of every person she serves.
